Dr. Travis R. Roundcount is starting his 12th year in the Mt. Zion School District, and 7th year as Superintendent of Mt. Zion School District. Prior to his time at Mt. Zion he was in the role of teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent for 9 years, making this his 21st year in education. He has continued the tradition of excellence at Mt. Zion with student test scores always being among the best in the state. Under his leadership the Mt. Zion School District, has maintained a balanced budget, while having the lowest school district tax rate and lowest student fees. In the last few years, the schools’ facilities have been greatly improved with the addition of the Fieldhouse, auditorium, turf soccer and football field, addition on Mt. Zion Grade, and countless improvements to the existing buildings. Sports teams have also excelled, with 10 teams placing at the state level during the last 6 years. His efforts to provide students the best opportunities continue into this coming school year with all students in grades 3-12 being issued a Chromebook. On the personal side of Dr. Roundcount, he has been a husband to his wife Rhonda for 15 years. With their 4 kids attending Mt. Zion Schools, you may find him following various youth activities. Any time left outside of his family and work, he volunteers with the Mt. Zion Knights of Columbus.
